First of all, Hillary supporters are at least as stubborn as Hillary. I have talked to some of them, given them evidence that Hillary is going to lose and they still will not just give in. If Hillary lost all of her support she would realize that it was over and resign. This would let Obama have more money towards his campaign and also let him focus on bigger or better things: McCain.
Also, they take vengeance. A lot of Hillary supporters say that they are going to vote for McCain because Obama knocked out their candidate. But let me ask you- is not that the whole reason we have primaries? Let the better man (or in Hillary's case thing,) win? But that is not how Hillary supporters are taking it. They take it as a personal thing, "Obama does not like us, so he knocked us out even though we were spreading rumors about him and now we might ask him to pay off our eleven-million dollar campaigning fund." This, of course, is totally irrational, and Hillary followers should just give up and go for Obama. If they did, it would make me think a lot better than them.
